Spring Board meeting,
June 20-22, 2013

For those wondering
about submitted LOI's:

The board will be having final discussions on those this weekend, along with review of current grant applications. We will be in touch (either way) by the end of June. For those organizations we invite to apply for Nov. 2013 funding , the application deadline will be August 31, 2013.

We're not yet accepting LOI's for our first cycle of 2014.

 Who We Are

 J. R. Albert was interested in promoting healthy living and wellness, and hoped that the growing prevalence of obesity-related diseases and their effects on quality of life could be prevented whenever possible.

Founded in Nov. 2007, the J. R. Albert Foundation provides support to nonprofit organizations  in Illinois, Wisconsin, Michigan, Missouri and Kansas whose purpose is:

To increase access to healthy foods by developing local food delivery systems, increasing distribution of fresh foods,  and work in sustainable agriculture, urban farms, and community gardens.

To  provide food to those who are in need, by supporting large regional food banks.

To provide nutrition and wellness education and opportunities, particularly in economically disadvantaged populations. We are especially interested in collaborative efforts towards community change.
