Founded
in Nov. 2007, the J. R. Albert Foundation funds researchers, organizations, and community
programs which support nutrition, fitness, and health
education, particularly in disadvantaged populations. We support
scientific and behavioral research related to nutrition and the
problem of obesity.
We are also interested in hands-on community health education programs, many of which reach populations
which otherwise have little support.
Our founder, J. R. Albert, was interested in promoting healthy living and
wellness, and hoped that the growing prevalence of obesity-related
diseases and their effects on quality of life could be
prevented whenever possible.
In
response to economic conditions, we have also assigned a portion of
our grant funds to hunger relief efforts in states most affected.
